On December 2 and 3, Noel Cabangon will be having his first major solo concert at the Music Museum. Entitled “Noel Cabangon… Simpleng Musikero”, this long anticipated concert is a retrospective of Noel’s career in the music industry.
After 20 years, Noel is still doing what he does best – writing music and singing about the things that matter most to him. From love songs to political songs to environmental songs, Noel has a sentiment for anyone and everyone who will hear his music.
Within the past year, Noel Cabangon’s career has moved into the mainstream with his performances during Noynoy Aquino’s campaign and later on, during PNoy’s Presidential inauguration. His banner song Ako’y Isang Mabuting Pilipino, has become the anthem for PNoy’s movement for good, clean and honest governance. With the Filipino people calling for change in the system and change from the people within the system, singers like Noel are needed more than ever.
Noel’s recent albums have also helped propel his status as an OPM artist. “Byahe” – his first release under a commercial label has been the hottest selling local album in little over a year now and is fast approaching double platinum status.
The follow up album “Panaganip”, has consistently stayed in the Top 10 of local record bars since its release last June.
But perhaps the most important facet of Noel is his involvement in various cause-oriented groups that advocate human rights, environment, peace, good citizenship and a life of dignity which collectively speak of his great passion for change in our society. His private and public persona speak of creativity and dignity with a vibrant Pinoy spirit.
This is a show you will not want to miss.
